Dogs, Rings, and Automobiles

I own three cars, two are not working, and one is now under the use and care of my trusting brother. He will argue that he owns it...don't listen to him. All I need to do with one of the cars is replace the battery. The other I am selling. The battery replacement started out easy. I got the battery at Costco. It fit nicely where it belonged in the car. Only problem is that the bolts wouldn't tighten on the battery. I assumed I got the wrong size battery and took it back. They said the battery is the right size. The bolts need to be replaced. So I'm hoping to go do that today.
One can only hope that's a simple enough task to do.
We are also only a few months away from paying off the engagement ring. It'll be nice to have the extra money each month. Steph is counting the days till she can, without restraint, shop at Whole Foods.
She has also started counting down to when we can possibly get a dog. She has two financial assignments to help her with being a part of our family finances: the Grocery budget and how's we are going to pay for a dog. She has done exceptionally well in both aspects. She loves researching breeds, adoptions, costs, foods, etc. Her one hurdle right now is figuring out which breed I prefer. That'll take some research on my part. I don't know anything about dogs. I had a pet rabbit when I was a kid. I didn't have to train him, or take him on walks,or anything besides feed him. Having a dog requires a lot.
But I realized that in giving my wife more responsibilities and trust in things I used to handle on my own, like finances, I am finding she gives me more opportunities to learn and be a part of things that interest her.
She and I are very different people, so finding things we both like isn't an easy task. It takes letting down our walls and personal biases. Its hard. I don't want pets till we own a home, but when she shows me the results of all the research she's done, its hard not to agree with her. Having a dog is a good idea.

Trying this again

My wife has something called the Hot 100. It's a list of 100 goals she hopes to accomplish over the next year. She had me do the Hot 100 list. Almost a month into working on it and I have listed 30 of the 100 goals.
One of them is writing a blog again. I am hoping to do like my brother, Joe, and write in it every day like a very public journal... so, here we go...
